Let’s Talk About The Next Generation of Advertising

I’ve been pondering advertising a lot lately. I believe that a Next Generation Ad Platform needs to come out and come out soon. I’m so bored with advertising. I’ve been working on the new Performancing Partners Platform for a few days now. I don’t want to get the hype going but I truly envision a platform that will truly bring excitement to an industry that is just plain bored of Adsense.

Without giving to much away — I envision a day when bloggers can sit back and realize we are a real profession. And truthfully we need better tools than what is out there today. Plain and simple what is out there sucks. Text Link Ads is great but saturation makes it a hard sell these days, Google punishment also makes it a hard sell. Adsense is great now and then. Affiliate marketing is only so so. PayPerPost is more hype than anything solid and long lasting. It more or less meets a need on the advertiser side than on the publisher side.

So what’s next?
1. Stronger Video Advertising Platform
2. Better Integration With Real Content
3. Search Friendly Platform
4. More options for publishers

My thoughts
Is there anyone else that is just plain and sick of Adsense and these floating boxes that have morphed on to every site on the internet. I believe these 125 x 125 boxes have the lowest click through rate of any ad format in the history of mankind. What in the world was web 2.0 thinking?
